    THE PRINCIPLE OF HEAVY GAUGE VACUUM FORMING

     

    The principle of heavy gauge vacuum forming is almost same as thin sheet vacuum forming for packing. The sheet will be heated to the softening state through the heating bricks first,  the mold then forms the closed space between the mold and its surrounding, and then draws the air in the mold cavity instantly, The plate is clung to the mold surface tightly, and take the part from the mold after it’s cooling and setting.

     

    Heavy gauge Vacuum forming is a cyclic process, each cycle mainly includes: feeding - heating softening - back blowing pre-drawing – vacuum forming- cooling setting - demoulding. After removing the plastic part, the plate is placed again for the next cycle.

     

    Compared with the plastic and injection molding, heavy gauge vacuum forming can not only reduce the cost of the mold, but also have short production cycle. It can also solve the problem of high production cost for the users in the R & D period and the growth period because of the small production volume and the rapid product renewal.

     

    APPLICATION AND DEVELOPMENT PROSPECT OF HEAVY GAUGE VACUUM FORMING

     

    Heavy gauge vacuum forming can make different parts in large size and more complex shape but the size requirements are not particularly accurate, in some way it can replace injection, glass steel, metal shell and so on, the mold has the protruding advantage of low cost and short development cycle, its mold cost is 1/10 to 1/20 of injection mold. At present, it is widely used in automotive interior, transportation, building materials, packaging, medical equipment, household appliances, bathing, sports products and other areas of daily life. With the rapid development of plastics industry, the field of heavy gauge vacuum forming will be expanding and widening.
